Marsha R. Rust, 69, of Oskaloosa, died Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. She was born July 10, 1942 at Oskaloosa, the daughter of Marion and Georgia Gibson Schwab. She was married to Richard Silvers, Sr. in 1958, and later divorced. She was a homemaker and worked as a cook in various restaurants, including the old Platime Supper Club. In 1972, she was married to Rodney Keoppel, and later divorced. On February 14, 1989, Marsha was united in marriage to David Rust at Montezuma. Early in her adult life, she was a member of the Lady Eagles, and she enjoyed cooking and going out to eat; shopping; country music, movies, and all things Elvis!

Her family includes her husband, David Rust of Oskaloosa; her children: Richard Earl Silvers, Jr., Oskaloosa, Pamela Kay Sanders of Oskaloosa, Judy (& Mike) Visser of Oskaloosa, Timothy F. Silvers of Ottumwa, and Heather E. (& Carl) Thomas of Oskaloosa; 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; a brother: Clarence "Buck" Schwab of Moberly, Missouri; and an aunt, Winifred Sheard of Oskaloosa.

Marsha was preceded in death by her parents; a great granddaughter, Gabriella; her twin sister, Sandra Schwab; and a brother: Stephen Schwab.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Pastor Alvern Boetsma officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Cemetery, Oskaloosa. Visitation will begin at the Bates Funeral Chapel on Friday after 1 p.m., and the family will be at the funeral chapel on Friday from 5 – 7 p.m. to greet friends and relatives. Memorials may be made to the Marsha Rust Memorial Fund.
