In February of 1978, he was united in marriage to Henrietta Wineland, they later divorced. In retirement Marvin enjoyed going to coffee with his friends, and collecting die cast tractors, he especially liked John Deere. Marvin was a regular at Happy Joe's, later Pizza Ranch where he had lunch everyday with friends and acquaintances. He also enjoyed evening meals at Wendy's.
